FAQ

Can I bivouac on the Grand Tour des Combins?

All the communes crossed by the Grand Tour des Combins prohibit unauthorised camping on their territory.

We therefore advise you to sleep in official campsites and to complete your tour by sleeping in refuges.

You can use the map below to find out which campsites exist and which refuges are “essential” to the success of your trek.

Can I do the Grand Tour des Combins by (e-)bike?

Some parts of the Grand Tour are authorised, others tolerated and others prohibited.
It is therefore important to respect the signs in place. It is especially forbidden to cycle in the federal free district shown in yellow on the map. Access to the Tsissette hut from Liddes remains possible as this is a forest road.

Naturally, you should also be careful of walkers. Here are the rules of good conduct to ensure a harmonious cohabitation between all.

1. Show respect
2. Protect yourself
3. Stay on the paths
4. Respect the environment
5. Leave no trace
6. Accept your limits
